Re: 2022 SR-71 performance improvement on older/ slower machines in P3D
Hi David, It's definitely got something to do with the map bizarrely. I think it has something to do with the photorealistic scenary. I have everything else on, and it's fine..the FPS is lower with it all on, but the scenary renders fine. If I turn the maps on in the cfg file, even with the maps act...

2022 SR-71 performance improvement on older/ slower machines in P3D
If anyone is struggling with performance issues with the new SR on older/slower machines where FPS takes a hit, and also photorealistic scenary takes a long time to load/ look blurry when flying, then I have found a way of improving performance. Replacing the following section in the panel.cfg file ...

Re: Compatibilities?
Do you mean Prepar3D is an FSX upgrade that works fine on FSX Steam? This might get a little confusing but to try and explain. where I state FSX, that can be used interchangeably with FSX:SE - The 2011 FSX variant works in P3D - The 2022 FSX variant works in P3D (I use that sometimes due to perform...

Re: Compatibilities?
Certainly the two latest SR-71 variants do. I have FSX:Steam and both the 2011 and 2022 version run fine (btw, get the 2022 version, it's much better visually . And both variants work fine in P3D too)

Re: SR-71 FSX 2022 Edition Changes
Update 2/4/2023: In the end I gave up trying to have a separate window for the radar and refuel in the P3DV5 version, so I combined them into one as I'd used them both anyway so saves clicking multiple times: All changes to be made with P3D closed.... otherwise nasty things happen or you won't see c...

Re: SR-71 FSX 2022 Edition Changes
Ah, forgot about that! Shame i couldn't get that to work in P3D 5.3 - it used to work in earlier versions. Glad you sorted it. I've been dabbling with the 2022 model and the previous version (2011? FSX) both in P3D V5.3. The old version does indeed work: the radar panels and refueling panel comes u...

Re: SR 71-Aerial Refueling Capability
There is a very nice third party add-on that is free that allows you to air-to-air refuel in Prepar3D V4 and more importantly V5. I have V5 and it works a treat. It's called PayloadManagerX by Lorby. It allows you to use any aircraft as a tanker (as I have MilVIz Beale AFB installed I can select a K...

Re: Prepar3D: Fuel leakage effects and TEB limitation
Hi David, Thanks for replying, yup, got everything fixed now! I didn't know the xml tools thing just 'worked', I thought something needed tweaking given the name of the app. I spotted it on Orbx a week or two ago and downloaded it as I knew I needed it but didn't notice it did anything until on a so...

Prepar3D: Fuel leakage effects and TEB limitation
First I'd like to say what an amazing upgrade to the original FSX version! The cockpit is stunning and I can see a lot of hard work has gone into this. Couple of questions: It's mentioned on JustFlight that there are effects for fuel tank leakage. I've not seen it yet, is there anything I need to do...
