SR 71-Aerial Refueling Capability

Post by UMBI55 » Fri Oct 23, 2020 5:42 pm

Good evening
I'm new to the Forum. I recently purchased the aircraft in question from Just Flight.
I have a question regarding tanker selection.
Where and how can I enable the default Tanker?
Or what do you recommend to install?
The selection panel is empty and no aircraft appear.
Despite being a former Fighter Pilot (F-104 G/S and MRCA TORNADO) .... I'm not a great Microsoft Flight Sim expert ... !!!
AHAHAH !!!
Thanks for your support and congrats for your product .... truly superb !!!

Hi Umberto,

Which sim are you trying to use the SR-71 in? The air refuelling option only works in FS9, FSX and P3D V4.

Let me know, and I'll see if I can help you out :-)

Hi Umberto,

Please email me support@glowingheat.co.uk and I'll get your refuelling sorted out.

Apologies for the delay, it's been a mess of a year.

David.

That should work, however - only with the previous SR-71 for FSX, not my current new SR-71 released in December 2022.

There is a very nice third party add-on that is free that allows you to air-to-air refuel in Prepar3D V4 and more importantly V5.

I have V5 and it works a treat.

It's called PayloadManagerX by Lorby.
It allows you to use any aircraft as a tanker (as I have MilVIz Beale AFB installed I can select a KC-135Q). You can generate a tanker anywhere in space, it will autolatch if you desire. You can set the fuel flow rate. Unfortunately the boom won't drop, but other than that, it works well.

Update 2 April 2023:

Got the internal one working too, with radar, in P3D v5, follow to page 2
