Dambusters [Resolved]

Post by Gunsmoke » Thu Jan 07, 2016 9:52 am

Hi Guys. I have your excellent scenery Snaith, Pocklington, Driffield and Goxhill. All are perfect and AI works to perfection. Unfortunately the Scampton Dambusters is not working right. I have some parked Lancasters but no Dambuster aircraft. Also no AI Lancs either. All my sliders are set as you recommend and everything works fine for the other airfields. I have Windows 7 and FSX boxed addition. Thanks for your great work.

In FSX/FSX-SE/P3D v1.4 you should have 18 AI Lancasters of 617 Sqn ( with Upkeep ) and 1 57 Sqn Lancaster doing Touch and Goes during the day. He lands before 617 take off. In addition there are 5 57 Sqn statics around the airfield plus AJQ 'Q' Queenie which was declared U/S and didn't go.

We have tried to keep to the correct timings as near as possible so the 1st wave takes off at 19:00 Zulu ( 21:00 double BST) and 01:38 Zulu (03:38 double BST) on the 16th and 17th May 1943. (But it's every day in FSX.)

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks Micky for your reply. I have set the timings as per the manual but nothing happens. I have the five static Lancs but no 617 parked aircraft. The other Yorkshire airfields work ok as per the timings etc. I might try a re-install to see if something may have been missed. Thanks again for your help.

We've never had any problems with this scenery up to now. Can you supply your purchase details so we can take it up with the retailer? In the meantime I assume you are installing into FSX? I ask because the AI will not show in P3D v2 & 3 and did you allow the scenery to "self-install" ? This is important as the installer is setup to seek out your Flight Simulator location.

Thanks Mick. I purchased the scenery from Flight Sim Store 21st December 2015 order number 439672. As mentioned earlier my other Team SDB airfields have all been from the same source and all work perfectly. I have many RAF airfields loaded into FSX so maybe there is a conflict somewhere?

Using Explorer to look, make sure under "FSX/SimObjects/Airplanes/" that you have a folder named "#AI Avro Lancaster Dambuster".
Under that there should be 21 "texture" folders. Check that there are also two "model" folders with MDL files in them (dambuster.mdl or lanc.mdl).

Thanks bud. The #AI Avro Lancaster Dambuster folder is present plus 21 texture folders and two model folders - B111 and Special. So if thats the case all seems correct and fully installed. Tried again last night to run the scenery but all I have is five parked Lancs and no Dambuster Lancs.

Just a thought. It's worth checking your other traffic files for an FS9 one. It will stop some or even all your FSX traffic files from working. Even just the Dambusters. Use AIFP3 freeware.
