New Gauge

Post by hardlucksam » Wed Apr 15, 2020 6:48 pm

I use the version 5 gauge01=RFN_CarrierGauge64!Aircraft_Carrier_Indicator_NG. Question: At 73; eyesight is not that good. Is it possible to have the gauges with a LM texture so it would light up a Dawn, Dusk, and Night? Thanks.

You can't change the brightness based on time of day or cockpit lighting but that is a really interesting idea that I will pass along to Sylvain. He is "staying at home" these days and spending a lot of time on flightsim projects. If anyone can make something like that happen he can.

In the meantime there is some control you have over the gauge. Page 18 and 19 discuss this.
[WindowXX]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=300,421
pixel_size=300,421
window_pos=0.0, 0.550
visible=0
alpha_blend=0.85 <-- this line controls the opacity of the gauge transparency
sizeable=1

You might also try adjusting the "Bright" button in the lower left corner of the Radio Box section (bottom half) of the gauge. This will brighten the text at least.
For some reason there is no discussion of this button in either the English or French versions of the manual but I'm sure it will be added in the next update. ;)

I use the RFN_CarrierGauge64!Radio_TACAN_ARN52B radio. I did try the bright button adjustment as viewed in the picture; but could not tell any difference on the numbers or text. But again - 73.
