Boeing T-45 Tacan RFN don't work

Post by JohnS » Thu Jan 19, 2023 10:06 pm

Hi Team SDB

I am sorry to trouble you with this issue.
I have used a lot of time on this forum to see if other has solved the problem I have.

I have used a lot of hours trying to get the RFN tacan to work on the DINO's Boeing T-45. I have been folloing your manual to the letter - copy and pasted just as the manual tells.
T-45 activated and waiting on the runway - I check the "vehicle/instrument panel/and TACAN RFN. So in a way tacan system has been pasted in the panel file - but due to a
missing [Vcockpit01] - system is not generated correctly.
Has anyone come arround the missing [Vcockpit01]?

When I check the TACAN RFN in the instrument panel check box - only thing visible on the screen is a blur square box - no details, no numbers - just an transparent black box.

I am running WIN10/64 and P3Dv.4 and the SDB USS Enterprise Final Cruises.
I should mention that with no trouble I have installed the TACAN RFN on the F-14, the C2 Grayhound, the E3 Hawkeye and also on some Phantoms and Skyhawks.
Rest of the carrier package works very well and is grate fun.

Any help on the issue will be most appreciated since flying the T-45 and doing carrier praksis is a lot of fun.

Best regards
John/Copenhagen/Denmark

Well it seems that I managed to solve the problem myself.

Looking closer to the panel.cfg it turned out that the [Window01, 02,03 and so on] was not placed in line.
The late numbers [Window 05, 06 and 07] was placed last in the file.
This way one was lured to name the FRN file a wrong number - therefore no TACAN radio on the screen.

I took the chance to reorganise the WINDOW sections correctly in line and placed the Vcokpit file in the [Vcockpit02] since
there is no [Vcockpit01] - it turned out that all worked well.

TACAN radio is now on the screen when needed.

Job well done - i said to myself. :D

Hi.

I've been away so i'm just seeing this tonight. I'm glad you figured it out.
I'm sure I've done the same thing as I've installed, uninstalled, reinstalled it many many times myself.

Sorry for the delay in responding but glad to hear you sorted it out.
