Ship Not Found in FSX/P3D [Resolved]
Post
by mav316 » Fri Jun 28, 2013 10:48 am

I have followed all these steps and i am still not able to locate any carriers with dead reckoning or save flight loading. The saved flights are in the documents folder under the flight sim X folder. The ferry and ships settings are 25% ( for extra measure ofcourse ) I have installed and activated the scenery by LEFT clicking the scenery folder and they show loaded and activated in FSX. I have verifed that the CVN65_Enterprise is located in the simobject boats folder.
I tried a dead reckoning flight from PHNG following the HDG and runway departure described in the manual and flew the DINO Tomcat at top speed on this heading and saw no carrier until the sim eventually froze for some reason. if you require proof of purchase information to further assist me please post comment requesting. Thank you for your assistance in advance, your product was purchased from the FLIGHTSIMSTORE.

You don't say if you have activated the two scenery folders in the FSX Scenery Library. You MUST do this in order to see the ship by dead reckoning and also by loading a saved flight.
Please confirm you've done this then we can advise further.

Have you tried the "Saved Flights"? When loaded you should see the ship in front of you about 10 miles out. If you don't, restart the flight or select a different one. The point of this is to see it the ship is loading, not that it is in the right spot.
Also, if you have AI Carriers installed please see page 27 of the manual. It is a quick way to know if the carrier is installed correctly. If you can't find it using AI Carriers and using the CFG file we provided as described in the second paragraph of page 27 then the next thing to do is uninstall/remove everything and start again. To save time you might even redownload in case there is something wrong with your original download.

I am very very sorry for not following up on this thread, I just got tied up in my work and wasn't focused on getting this corrected. This Sunday I will be working on this issue. I have had the two scenery files from the add-on folder activated, and discovered that the saved files had went to the wrong folder and corrected that issue. I am now seeing the saved files in the "LOAD" menu within FSX. But either I am not on the carriers schedule to be in the area because most of the files are not placing a carrier 10 miles in front of my aircraft at all. I knew this was only working for me in the Hawaii area at one time and now not even that is working.
I have downloaded AIcarriers2 recently and will install that on Sunday, I don't have a clue how to tink around with this add-on but I will read the manuals and try to get it working. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Also I downloaded this guage "RFN GAUGE v41" that someone told me would be able to guide me to any carrier location with the nav1 radio freq set to the carrier. This gauge works when I play the sim directly, but doesn't pop up when I load a saved flight. Dead Reckoning is out of the question, I go in to map and type in the coordinates of the exact carrier location and it teleports me to the location and I look around me and I see nothing on ocean!
I am totally psyched right now to get this app to work right because I am enjoying the SUPERBUG and will be getting the TACPACK this friday and I want to be able to use the aircraft carrier as a base of operations in all regions to reek havoc on all AI objects in the area lol!

I have just installed Aicarriers and it prompted for an installation of Java JRE, which I acquired from cnet.downloads (Current Version). This application works as far as summon AI Ships to pop up right in front of you up to 10nm. Only problem with it .. is it only able to do this for default ships? I am not seeing any of the SDB carriers in the list?
Another thing is I read somewhere that there was suppose to be a folder with AI Boats for the SDB carriers and that file is not found anywhere in the installation. I have all the saved files working, but not producing carriers. I have activated the East and West carrier files in the addon scenery directory. So what would be my next step because it seems as if I am almost there, But no frosting on the cake...just cake! lol

GOODNESS GRACIOUS, GREAT BALLS OF FIRE!!!!!!!

Patience is a virtue, you led me in the right direction and I finally got it! Adobe Reader points page 27 as page 25 that is why I didnt see the Appendix A file for moving carriers. It appears as page 29 in adobe reader and once I placed a copy of the CVN65_Enterprise cfg in the conf.d file of the AICarriers folder AIShips folder. BINGO

finally saw the CVN DSB Enterprise model pop up in front of me from the inflight AIShips menu! Sweet now I can place her any where I want this makes this download purchase so worth while now and I finally got it all together and ready for operations tomorrow night! Eric Marciano F-16 guage that tracks AI Aircrafts is working for me now too! A hunting I shall go

!
Ghost Rider 103 out.... thanks for the assist
